About the Competition
« on: August 08, 2012, 08:47:57 AM »
We at Four Paws Animal Rescue are always thinking of new fundraising ideas to help us save more dogs from death and this year we have decided to produce a calendar for 2013. It is a very exciting project for us and one that we have talked about for a few years. We have been offered the services of a professional photographer, who is volunteering his time (http://hatchlingphoto.4ormat.com/about-lann-niziblian) a well known doggy judge (www.dogstodaymagazine.co.uk) and a few rather nice prizes we are ready to go.

This is where you come in - all that we ask is that your dog is a rescue dog. We suggest a donation of £2 per photograph submitted (please pay via www.justgiving.com/fourpawsanimalrescue) Photographs can be no bigger than 1mb and should be emailed to calendar@fourpawsanimalrescue.org.uk

There are two categories:

1. Best Four Paws Animal Rescue dog

2. Best 'other rescue' dog (i.e. Dogs Trust, Hope Rescue, RSPCA etc)

There is no limit to the number of photographs you can enter but please be sure to state the category - FPAR or other - and include your name, address, landline telephone number and a few words about your dog on your email. The competition will run for two weeks from Monday, August 13 to Monday, August 27. Any emails received after 12 Noon on August 27 will not be valid.

After collating all the entries we will forward them to our lovely judge, Beverley Cuddy - editor at Dogs Today magazine - to choose the 12 winners. These 12 winners must be available to attend a professional photoshoot in Cardiff on 2nd September.

Artist Mary Herbert (http://www.portra.co.uk/Portraits/Dogs/dogs.html) will select an overall winner from the 12 professional photographs, for the cover page of our calendar. Mary has also agreed to commission a framed pastel portrait worth £280 of the overall winner for their owner to keep.

So come on, get snapping!
