Can anyone recommend boarding kennels for my 2 dogs?
« on: January 15, 2012, 18:49:45 PM »
Before we adopted Jessica (from 4 paws) we had used the boarding centre once for our other dog.  She came home very stressed and distressed.

Wondered if anyone could recommend one they have used?

Thank you

Michelle

We always use fforest kennels in mountain ash - not plus but dogs get walks on the mountain and the staff are very caring. Used them for 16 years with no problems. Kenfig hill we used once in an emergency and they were great too!

My sister used one in Cwmbran last week on her wedding day and they gave Bee and George boiled ham for breakfast  :o. Both enjoyed the experiance even after being rescue dogs previously. If thats in your area I can find out which one it was.

Hello
We are in Cardiff, but am willing to travel.

Have been recommended one in Rudry and Penylan pets hotel in Caldicot (I think).  We are going to look around some hopefully at the weekend, but would prefer recommendations as what you see is not always what you get.

Thanks

Chelle

The only kennels that I will EVER use is Penylan on the old Chepstow Road.  After many other attempts elsewhere, it is the ONLY place where any of my dog's have actually enjoyed going to!!! They get treated like royalty, get fed whatever you feed your dog whether it be. Scraps or T-bone steak. They also do transport & to top it all off, there prices are quiet reasonable. Brian, is the owner/manager/taxi driver, & he's very friendly & approachable. I KNOW that whenever we use these guy's; my animals are treated outstandingly well. I wouldn't mind staying there lol. The best thing I believe is that when you are reunited with your pet, they are in fab condition & THEY are happy, THEY have had a holiday, not a prison sentence!!!

Have to agree with Penelope, the only kennels I would recommend is Penylan on the old Chepstow rd. They are really lovely and the kennels and Cattery are amazing. The dogs have a bath and brush up before they come home too!
