Tend to follow other doggie people & rescues and tweet a mixture of random stuff and stuff about oldies club and events we go along to. I have a separate one for my grooming as well.

There is follow fridays (#ff) where you encourage people following you to follow other people.

Hardest thing I find is keeping things down to 140 characters so spelling and grammer goes out of the window

Come along to a Cardiff Social Media Surgery meeting at some point, and you'll get some great free advice from social media experts on how to use Twitter, facebook, and other things to your advantage. I went to one a couple of weeks ago in Llanishen for some help and advice in getting SARDA's Twitter and web sorted out - and it was superb! I was the only one there for help on that day, so I had the entire team (about 8 of them!) thinking through how we could do things better, and throwing ideas at me from everywhere.

Look for the hashtag #cdfsms on Twitter, or look at http://www.socialmediasurgery.com for upcoming ones.

Can't recommend this highly enough for small charities looking to get going with Twitter etc. And the plan is that as you gain skills and confidence you come back as a helper, and keep the revolution going!

One thing SARDA now has, as of this week, is #WoofWeds with facts and info about our team and dogs. Four Paws could easily have #WoofWeds, #MiaowMondays, etc.

Thanks Amyjo and Chris, your help is much appreciated.

The next social media surgery seems to be in Canton in July so hopefully I can get to that to pick up some skills.

Damn I can't get to that one - we've got a Cardiff Friends Forum BBQ so will have to wait till next one (will also be useful for my park community groups stuff as well as I do all the web stuff).

Consider it done - I'll post regular reminders as time goes on but as my memory is going with age yell if you think i've forgotten.
