Judges and Prizes
« on: February 20, 2010, 17:58:02 PM »
So far we have two judges confirmed and some nice prizes. Details to be added soon  ;D

Sue Perkins

Sue began her career as one quarter of double act Mel and Sue. They first found fame on Channel Four's daytime show, 'Light Lunch', which ran for five series before transferring to an evening slot with the imaginatively titled, 'Late Lunch'. Together they jumped, shouted and gurned through countless hours of television, marking the start of a double act that has lasted for seventeen years.

In 2007 Sue was involved in ‘Edwardian Supersize Me' for the BBC alongside Giles Coren, spending a week eating the equivalent of a wealthy Edwardian couple's food, whilst wearing a corset. In 2008 Sue went onto to work on ‘The Supersizers Go...’ where they lived for a week eating food based upon certain diets including the Victorian and Regency period.

Sue recently appeared on the Paul O'Grady show with a four paws dog Bella who found her forever home thanks to the show  ;D

Shauna Lowry

Shauna was born and brought up in Northern Ireland. She began her career at the young age of 16 in television and radio as a researcher/reporter/presenter for the BBC in Belfast. Her network break was BBC1's saturday morning children's programme Going Live, which led to her being offered Ghost Train for ITV. She was a current affairs reporter for LWT's Six O'Clock Show in 1989/90 and then presenter of Jo-Maxi (magazine show) and Bon Voyage (travel series) both for RTE in Ireland 1990-95. She then moved to London in 1996 and – following the reporter's role on the BBC's science programme Cat's Eyes – she joined BBC1's Animal Hospital as reporter/co-presenter and went on to win many national television awards with the team.

Shauna is a fully qualified scuba-diver and proficient horse-rider and has travelled all over the world. She is also a keen wildlife photographer.

Matt Baker

Matt started his TV career in 1999, his first job was Blue Peter. Seven and a half years on Blue Peter established Matt as one of the best loved and most versatile presenters in the show's history, winning him 2 BAFTA awards for Best Children's presenter and a Royal Television Society award.

Matt left Blue Peter in 2006 and began presenting a wide variety of television and radio programmes. Initially joining the BBC1 City Hospital presenting team and was also part of the initial 'One Show' series.

Matt was born in Durham where he grew up in the Dales on his family's sheep farm. His love of the countryside and animals made him the natural choice for fronting such shows as Crufts, One Man and His Dog, Summer Countryfile Diaries, Animal Rescue Live and Animal Rescue Squad for Five and the North East's 'Nature of Britain' series.  He currently presents BBC1's Countryfile with Julia Bradbury.

As a boy, Matt was a British gymnastic and sports acrobatics champion, later joining the BBC sport team as a world gymnastics presenter and commentator. Matt provides commentary at the World Cup, the European and World Gymnastics Championships for BBC and presented the BBC's coverage of the gymnastics events at the 2008 Olympic Games from Beijing in August.  Matt flew back from China to present the Olympic Concert televised live outside Buckingham Palace.
