Staying Safe in the Ice and Snow
« on: December 24, 2009, 14:43:26 PM »
Please folks, keep your animals and yourselves safe in this weather.

Stay away from any sort of water. You dogs could run out on the ice (especially if it's covered in snow), the ice could give way and they could go in  :(.  While this in itself could end in a dreadful tradegy, even worse is the instinct to go in and rescue the dog.  It could so easily end in a double tradegy  :'(.

It's already happened this year.........

Body found during search of lake. I have just read about the man from Northants on another forum I am a member of. His wife has cancer and he has been out of work to look after her. He was shooting to get food for them. The house is being repo'd. It really, really can't get any worse  :'(

Man dies in reservoir rescue bid

While we all think it will never happen to us, I don't suppose these pour souls thought it would happen to them either.

Stay safe  :grouphug:
