Craig y Nos castle, near Brecon Beacons
« on: February 21, 2016, 16:54:43 PM »
Just come back from a 2 night stay at Craig y Nos castle near the Brecon Beacons and can't recommend it highly enough! It's by far the most dog friendly place we've ever stayed. Dogs can go everywhere except the main dining room (which was almost empty as there were so many dogs & owners happily eating in the bar area) The food was delicious, the staff are all dog owners and love having dogs around - at breakfast time all the dogs (that are not on special diets) are brought a sausage chopped up and served on a plate! There were a few barky dogs there (including Dylan at times!) and all the staff just took it in their stride, and even apologised to the dogs for setting them off! Dogs are welcome to go offlead in the garden area, and the castle adjoins 40 acres of National Trust woodlands, fields, ponds and the River Tawe. Dylan was in heaven! At the National Trust car park there is also a fantastic cafe where dogs are welcome. I'd really recommend it, either as a place to stay or just a place to visit and go walking.

they have been known to provide a prize of a night there as well which is worth knowing for a good raffle or similar prize
