:) :) :) :) :) :) Aw Judy you're perfect for the job, as well as being great with people you're also great with animals so no wonder you were asked, I don't know if you know but that's similar to how Four Paws started, Kirsty was training to be a vet nurse & saw all these animals coming in to be PTS so started rescuing them & it grew into Four Paws Animal Rescue angel.gif

When I've settled in I'd like to use my position to promote rescue organisations, especially Four Paws! So maybe in a couple of months would someone be able to send me some promotional literature?

I was very proud of Betsy today. We passed a group of infants coming back from some kind of outing, they all rushed up to us, but politely asked if they could stroke Betsy. I said yes, & they took turns to fuss her, she was so amazing! She can be a terrible licker,& a bit boisterous, but was so restrained & let all these little folks stroke & fuss her. Clever girl Betsy  angel.gif   I think some dogs just have a sense they need to be gentle with little children.  I remember Anya being off lead in the field and a family coming in with two dogs and two small children, about 2/3 years old and because she's so big I was a bit worried but she just went up and had a little sniff then very gently got hold of the hood on the little girl's coat and walked behind her holding on.  Most of the time she's so clumsy it was sweet to watch and the little girl loved her.

We were on the Brecon mountain railway last year & a little girl sat next to us just holding & stoking Betsy's ear, Betsy just sat there. Like Anya, she too can be a bit clumsy & boisterous. They surprise us sometimes don't they  :)

Having just binned my crazy expensive Hunter wellies, which split after 3 years use (maybe that's right!?) I have bought a pair of wellies from Joules (on recommendation from a fellow dog walker) I wanted something very lightweight & snug fitting around my calf. They are brilliant, so comfy, there appears to be some kind of cushioning in the sole. Anyway, thought I'd share. Obviously time will tell if they can endure my walks.

I have the tall and short wellies from Joules, had them for ages, short wellies are my favourite as so easy to slip on, have soft fleece inside so I don't have to wear socks  :)
