WooHoo!  what a great result (clapping like a crazy woman!)  Was hoping we'd made a bit but didn't think it was that much x
Thanks to all volunteers and fundraising doglets for turning up and spreading the word, thanks to Lush for donating their charity pot takings and thanks to all the people of Cardiff who shopped a little less as they gave their pennies to our dogs!
Yay!!

Its amazing how generous people were but just think if we get more vols next time we can go anywhere in Cardiff city centre and collect - think it helped that Audrey and I set up camp further down Queen Street but next time would be good to have 2 in the Hayes and may be others at other busy spots around the city.

Am going to book some more for next year - any preferences - will see if there are any match days at the stadium we could benefit from - if I do some now then we can get in on better dates.

Definately helped this time having more dogs, at one point we were so overcrowded with people outside Lush petting the dogs.   I saw many people popping in lots of paper money too :luv:

this is why I wanted to go and collect in other parts of the city, as if they see too many other people there they will move on and not donate plus out on the street we're not meant to have everyone together anyway as per the license

What a brilliant amount.  Thank you lush for having us.  I agree with Penny the more volunteers the more places to collect the more we gain.

I think some people might be put off thinking you have to stand there just rattling a tin at people, but the reality is not like that.  If you have the dogs with you, people want to come up and ask.  You spend an awfully large part of the day talking to people (and the dogs spend an awfully large part of the day being patted!)

I agree Lydia + if you're in pairs you can give each other a break (like me who went off for breakfast)

People would walk past realise dogs were there then walk back again to ask if they could stroke them - Wilf is a real showman, which is why I always like to take him with me - his bum and tail wag constantly and he always looks happy to see everyone

Those orange barriers the council had piled up were great as it meant we weren't in anyone's way either + I could tie the dogs up (or the collection bucket if I needed both hands - I clip on a dog lead and fasten it to something immovable)

I see Wilf is on constant bum wag mode there - am surprised he never tires as it never stops.

The Japanese tourists were so intrigued with us and the dogs.
