Dougie has come into four paws after his old owner became too poorly to care for him. He came from a home where he lived with an older dog and two cats. Dougie is still young but at the moment hes very bewildered by his change in circumstances so isn't really interested in toys treats or food really.
He not had a huge amount of training, he does understand basic commands and knows his name but we believe he would really benefit from training. Hes currently having two walks a day, his first in the morning. In common with most pointys he likes to have a good stretch of his legs then to snooze for a while. Hes been telling his foster carer when he needs another walk by going up to her resting his head against her and looking mournfully at the door! Hes clearly good at manipulation!!
Dougie came from a home with cats, so we already knew he could live with cats. His foster home has a cat caller who enjoys tormenting his foster terrier brother. Despite the barking that's occurring Dougie doesn't join in or even show any interest.
There were young teenage visitors at his foster home a few days ago and Dougie was very at ease with them. Dougie is a very gentle laid back boy who seems to take anything in his stride. He has immaculate manners and so far hasn't put a paw wrong being clean day and night and happily settling downstairs quietly when his foster family go to bed.
Dougie does love a sofa and can fold himself up quite small just so you don't notice he's there!! Dougie loves a run but just like all pointies its a fast run followed by more gentle walking followed by a long snooze. Pointies aren't really built for long runs but they can do long walks! Dougie would benefit from training and would enjoy it.
Hes a total delight and someone will be very lucky to adopt this little gem, so put your application in now!
Please put in an application in the first instance if you are interested in Dougie. Approved applications will be home checked.
